A Sister’s Anguish (October 467AV)

The priests finished their midday supplications and began tidying everything away. It would do no good to have the Escari find it and give them more hassle than they already had. The image of Vandria’s face alongside some candles and a small bowl were secreted in a nook in the temple before the priests got up to leave. They began to separate, going towards different exits to reduce the risk of the being caught. Just as the first of the priests reached the door a terrible and anguished scream ripped across the temple. It was a long scream filled with woe and despair, the cry of a sister who had suffered a great loss. There were no words as the priests slumped to the floor. Somehow they just knew, Niefel was dead. The scream became a cry and then died off, Vandria had regained her control now. The priests hearts ached with the grief they had felt from their Guardian and, for hours afterwards, they could not shake the tremendous feeling of emptiness.
